Every Namami lamp is made to order, by hand, in Melbourne - nothing sits pre-made on a shelf. Production typically takes 3–6 business days depending on the design, then your order is packaged and dispatched.

If you've chosen express shipping, that speeds up delivery once your order leaves our studio - it doesn't affect production time.

Our lamps are primarily made from biodegradable PLA, a plant-based plastic derived from corn starch. It’s lightweight, durable, and 3D-printed locally in Melbourne.

We also offer a growing selection of products made from recycled PLA, sourced from coffee cup lids and post-consumer PLA waste.

This recycled material is supplied in partnership with a UNSW-based research group, supporting our mission to make design more circular and sustainable.

Yes. Every Namami cord set uses a standard E27 fitting, so bulbs are easy to find and easy to swap.

• The shade unscrews from the cord set to access the bulb
• Compatible with standard and dimmable E27 LED bulbs
• Maximum wattage: 7W (LED only)

Using a bulb above this wattage, or a non-LED bulb, may damage the shade or compromise its safety. Our shades are 3D-printed from PLA, a plant-based bioplastic that isn't designed for the heat of halogen or incandescent globes.

Are Namami Studio products certified and safe?

Yes — safety is a priority. Namami Studio is a registered Responsible Supplier under the Australian Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS).

• Cord sets — standard, switched and dimmable — are supplied with the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM), backed by current Australian certification for every component: plug, flexible cord, switch and lampholder.
• Standard and dimmable warm white bulbs carry Australian approval.

Important: Our shades are designed for LED bulbs only, maximum 7W. Do not use halogen, incandescent bulbs, or any bulb exceeding this wattage — doing so may damage the shade or compromise safety.

We've designed everything to go together in minutes, no tools required:

• Table lamps & night lights — twist the shade onto your chosen cord set. Takes about 1–2 minutes. Full instructions are included in the box.
• Plug-in pendants (6m cable) — twist the shade on the same way, then hang. Ready to use, no tools or wiring needed.
• Hardwired pendants — must be installed by a licensed electrician to comply with Australian electrical regulations.

Every Namami shade uses the same twist-lock fitting, so any shade works with any of our cord sets or bases.

If you've chosen an RGB smart bulb, a setup card is included in the box. If it's missing or misplaced, follow these steps:

Step 1: Install the app

• Download Smart Life from the App Store or Google Play
• Log in or create an account

Step 2: Reset the bulb

• Switch the bulb on and off 3 times, with a 1-second pause between each
• The bulb will begin blinking rapidly — this means it's in pairing mode

Step 3: Pair with Smart Life

• Open the app → tap + → select Lighting (Wi-Fi)
• Connect to your 2.4GHz WiFi network (smart bulbs don't support 5GHz)
• Enter your WiFi password and let it connect

Step 4: Control your lamp

• Rename the bulb and assign it to a room
• Use the app to adjust colour, brightness, and schedules

3. Tap Enable and log in with your Smart Life account
4. Go to Devices → Add Device
